Utah Proteomics Affinity Group Summer Workshop

2025 Summer Short Course

Our Fundamentals in Proteomics course will familiarize participants with the foundations of mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics experimental design, sample preparation, LC-MS/MS equipment handling, and data analysis tools. The course will include a balanced mix of classroom lectures from University of Utah and Brigham Young University Investigators U of U and BYU Investigators and hands-on training!

Course Description:

  • Introduction to MS-based proteomics, experimental design, and common assays
  • Hands-on protein digestion techniques for bottom-up proteomics.
  • Theory and applications of nano-electrospray liquid chromatography (LC)-MS on the ThermoFisher Scientific Exploris 480 and the Bruker timsTOF Pro2.
  • Fundamentals of quantitative proteomics using both isobaric labeling and label free data independent analysis.
  • Hands-on data analysis techniques using the open-source software packages Fragpipe 22.0, DIA-NN 1.9.1, and Perseus 2.0.11.

Registration fee $100, all materials and lunches included!
This course is limited to 20 participants. Prospective participants will be waitlisted after capacity has been reached.
Cancellations before June 19th will be eligible for a full refund.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations after June 19th. NO EXCEPTIONS

We would like to thank our sponsors:
