Cryopreservation and storage of mouse sperm using liquid nitrogen
Sperm will be obtained from male mice and will be frozen in liquid nitrogen. One straw will be removed one week later to determine sperm viability.
Two male mice of breeding age will be necessary for cryopreservation of sperm. They need to be housed away from females for three days before harvesting the sperm. Proven breeders are ideal.
Provide us with the following information before day of freezing:
Submit a “work authorization form”.
$450 will be charged for cryopreservation of mouse sperm. 10 straws containing 4-10ul sperm samples will be frozen for each male mouse.
No additional fee will be charged for sperm viability check two weeks after freeze.
A yearly storage fee of $10 will be charged for each cane containing 10 straws or 5 vials of sperm.
